Competition Introduction Evaluation

Competition Introduction Evaluation to become Comp Intro Certified

CI Certified is only required if you are a Head Coach for U14AA, and for all coaches at U16A/AA, U19A/AA, and NRL.

  • You must be CI Trained before you can complete the certification process.
  • To register for the CI Evaluation, you must have green check marks beside the Comp Intro Clinic. If you are Comp Intro Trained but took an older version and don't have green checkmarks, email Bronwen to sort things out.
  • For information on the CI Evaluation process, log into your www.coachingringette.ca/c account and go to your status page. Scrolling down, you should see links to documents found underneath your CI class. Clicking on them will download - the evaluation package is found in the last chapter of the CI Coach Workbook, and you will also want to download the CI Excel Coach Workbook Template (and view the support videos if applicable).
  • Click 'begin' beside Comp Intro Portfolio and read about the required documents and formats. Once the portfolio is submitted (DEADLINE DEC 15 of the current season), Ringette Alberta will assign an evaluator who will review the documents and reach out to the coach to schedule a time to observe the practice.
  • The deadline to be evaluated is January 31 of the current season, but you must submit a completed portfolio by December 15 or you may not be scheduled for the current season.
  • Evaluators can do 1 or 2 coaches per practice. Each coach must still register individually. Coaches on the same team can and should complete the supporting portfolio documents together. All coaches completing their evaluation MUST be able to answer questions about the supporting documents, so copying someone else's work without understanding it won't enable a coach to be successful.

It is possible to challenge the Competition Introduction Evaluation process and not attend the Competition Introduction class.
