| Ringette Canada Elite Coaching Opportunity: Head Coach, Team Canada 2010 - Friday, May 09, 2008We are seeking candidates who are enthusiastic, self-motivated, with high personal and professional ethical standards for the position of Head Coach for the Women’s Senior National Team.
The Head Coach will be responsible for the planning, organization and preparation of the Women’s Team, for the 2010 IRF World Ringette Championships to be held in Finland during the fall of 2010.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and experience with ringette at major national competitions such as the Canadian Ringette Championships and the Canada Winter Games, as well as IRF international competitions.
The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. These will be applied as the Head Coach works closely with athletes, families, Ringette Canada committees and staff, event personnel, and the members of their coaching staff. As a minimum, one member of the coaching staff must be fluent in French. For all coaching candidates, bilingualism is an asset, but is not required.
To be eligible for the position, an individual must be Level III Certified in ringette, and be a member in good standing of Ringette Canada and their provincial ringette association.
This position requires excellent organizational abilities and a results-oriented approach to working with Ringette Canada’s staff, including team staff and all Ringette stakeholders. Extensive weekend work and travel will be required. The Head Coach is a contract employee of Ringette Canada compensated via an honorarium. The terms of employment will be negotiated once the Head Coach is selected (tentatively Fall 2008 to March 31st, 2010).
Interested candidates are invited to submit, in confidence, their résumé, along with two letters of reference. Candidates should include a cover letter detailing their interest in this program and position. Candidates should also include a brief overview of how they will structure this program to achieve gold at the 2010 IRF World Ringette Championships, while ensuring the development of our elite athletes.
Note – All successful candidates will be subject to a Police Records Check before finalizing their appointment.
