Ringette Alberta is your Association. It is the alliance of players, team staff, officials, parents and volunteers. You are Ringette Alberta.
People just like you have developed the rules and operating procedures that govern the sport of Ringette in the province over many years in an open and democratic process. The Ringette family has chosen how they would like Ringette to be run.
Each year, all members of Ringette Alberta are entitled and encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Association. The Annual General Meeting is the Ringette community's opportunity to choose their representatives; these are the volunteers they would like to be the stewards of the provincial association for the next year. These elections are democratic and any member of Ringette Alberta is welcome to allow their name to stand for consideration by the other members of the association through a nomination process. As a member, it is your responsibility to get involved either as a nominee or to vote. The Bylaws of the Association and the Rules and Operating Procedures explain this process in detail.
Beyond the Annual General Meeting of Ringette Alberta, you have other opportunities for input. Ringette Alberta has a well developed business plan and budget that any member is welcome to examine. In fact, you are encouraged to ask questions and provide input - this is the only way we can be sure the programs and services offered by the Association are on target.
