Ringette Alberta Youth Leadership Opportunities

 2023 Athlete Ambassador

Introducing Gianina Mutiso, Ringette Alberta Athlete Ambassador for 2023.

Gianina was not only chosen for this role,  but she also inspired Ringette Alberta to create it when we realized she would be a perfect fit as she consistently models the values and spirit of ringette on and off the ice.

Gianina showed true passion for the sport of ringette by taking the initiative to create change in our sport, specifically in how we represent diversity in our sport.

In a letter to our Executive Director she wrote, ‘Our goal is to shed light on black excellence and the POC community within the sport, to do this we would like to collaborate on a social media post regarding this topic.’

In reaching out to Ringette Alberta, Gianina was able to reach her goal, completing a very successful social media campaign with Ringette Alberta, but she also highlighted a need both within the community of ringette and the greater community beyond.

Further to the leadership Gianina displayed by taking an active role to create change in our community, she also consitently demonstrates her passion and commitment to the sport of ringette by volunteering as a Jr. Coach, working as a ringette official, and supporting her AA ringette team.

Simply put, Gianina makes our community a better place, she is a role model that all ringette players can look up to!

Gianina will be featured on our social media for 2023, so if you see her around the rink say hi!

She may even take some videos to learn about YOU and why you love ringette!
