Ringette Alberta Scholarships
Ringette Alberta Scholarships are for ringette players who have demonstrated a strong academic performance and a commitment to the sport of ringette through active participation and involvement. These scholarships are designed to encourage athletes to maintain their involvement in ringette while pursuing post-secondary studies. Five scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded each year.
Applications must be received by Ringette Alberta no later than October 30, 2009.

Gaudreau Family Scholarships - Thanks to the generosity of Paul Gaudreau and his employer, Dow Chemical, anonther scholarship is available to ringette players in the province. Preference is given to existing AA players from Zone 5 however if no suitable recipients apply, the scholarship will go to a deserving House League athlete, or an athlete outside the Zone. The deadline for applications is October 31 each year. One scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually each fall.
Applications must be received by Ringette Alberta no later than October 31, each year.

Ringette Canada Scholarships
The Agnes Jacks Scholarship Awards are named in honour of Mrs. Agnes Jacks who, following the untimely death of her husband, Mr. Sam Jacks (ringette founder), picked up the gauntlet and became a dedicated and tireless promoter of the sport. Mrs. Jacks became a well known and well loved figure in the ringette community and over the years became known across Canada as ringette's "goodwill ambassador".
Applications must be received by Ringette Canada no later than January 31, each year.

The Cara Brown Scholarship, which recognizes and rewards combined performance in elite ringette and scholastics, is awarded to registered ringette players who are actively playing ringette at the elite (AA) level, who are entering a Canadian University on a full-time basis for the first time, and who combine academic excellence with a strong commitment to the sport of ringette. Two annual scholarships of $750.00 each are provided and successful applicants also receive a certificate recognizing their achievements.
Applications must be received by Ringette Canada no later than January 31, each year.

Other Scholarship Opportunities
AL HAMILTON SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS - These scholarships, sponsored by the Edmonton Oilers Alumni Association in conjunction with the NHL Alumni, offer young student athletes attending Edmonton Catholic or Edmonton Public Schools, the opportunity to pursue their athletic goals, and through post-secondary education, propel them towards their ultimate success. Each high school may nominate one male and one female grade 12 student athlete. The selection will be based on individuals who exemplify the ideal of a student athlete. This includes school activities, community involvement, leadership qualities, athletic and academic excellence. Financial need will also be considered. Additionally, students must be involved in a sport and plan on pursuing that sport within their program at a college or university. Students must complete the form and one of his/her coaches and/or instructors must write a brief letter highlighting qualities of the candidate. Any additional letters of recommendation are welcome. Value is $2000 per year for up to four years of post-secondary education.
BOWVIEW RINGETTE SCHOLARSHIP - The Spirit of Ringette Scholarship is designed to encourage post secondary students to continue playing competitive ringette after the completion of high school. To be eligible for this scholarship, ringette players must be registered at a post-secondary institution in Canada. The amount of the scholarship is $750.
FRIENDS OF RINGETTE SCHOLARSHIPS - The Friends of Ringette Society scholarship program supports and encourages excellence in academics and ringette by post secondary student athletes who are members of competitive post secondary ringette teams, such as the U of A Ringette Team, in Northern Alberta. A significant number of scholarships, totaling $25,000, are available on an annual basis.
SHERWOOD PARK RINGETTE SCHOLARSHIP - The Sherwood Park Ringette Association Scholarship is designed to encourage students to continue playing ringette after the completion of high school, while registered in post-secondary education in Canada. The scholarship amount is $500.00 annually.
STACEY LEVITT WOMEN & SPORT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) invites applications from young women, girls’ teams and/or qualified sport organizations for this $2,500 scholarship which is shared by five recipients.
