With the Heaviest of Hearts…

It is with the heaviest of hearts that Ringette Alberta shares the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of our members.  On behalf of the entire Ringette Alberta community, we send our deepest condolences to the Hutton Family, Clara’s teammates, and the Beaumont Ringette Association.

From Beaumont Ringette:

It is with great sadness and disbelief that we pass along this tragic news. On January 19th, with her family by her side, Clara Hutton lost her courageous battle with leukemia. Clara and her twin sister Sydney are players on the U14B team, and have been a part of our association for five years.

Clara spent her U12 and U14 years as a defenceman and always gave 110% on and off the ice. Her love for ringette was reflective in the way she played the game and interacted with her teammates. Her easy going personality and great sense of humour kept everyone smiling on the bench and in the dressing room. Clara was the player who always had her team’s back and went above and beyond to protect her teammates. She will forever be a part of our association and fondly remembered for the determined player and wonderful human being that she was. Her strength on and off the ice has been inspirational to all.

Beaumont Ringette sends out our deepest condolences to Clara’s loving parents, Brad and Nina, her twin sister Sydney and their families.

2017 World Ringette Championships

Ringette Alberta wishes all of our Team Canada athletes and coaches the best of luck this week at the World Ringette Championships.

We’re extremely proud to see so many Albertans involved with Ringette Canada’s Senior and Junior National teams as athletes and as team staff.  It is a reflection of the good work that is being done in our system particularly by the coaches and volunteers running local ringette programs.” – David Myers, Executive Director of Ringette Alberta.
